During my EVS volunteering project at Die Bäckerei Kulturbackstube in Innsbruck, Austria, I was part of the implementation and documentation of the EU-funded project Art of Democracy: Creative Expression for Democratic Participation.

By offering engaging learning experiences around civic participation, this project empowered young people to understand, question, and contribute to democratic processes. Through workshops, discussions, and creative activities with young people aged 17 to 25 from Austria, Slovakia, and Spain, they explored their understanding of democracy and the potential of art as a tool for political change. Illustrator Nerijus Malinauskas and I developed a workshop dedicated to street art and employed accessible artistic methods for creative intervention in urban space. This initiative informed a guide to agile project management in intercultural youth projects with focus on participatory strategies and confidence building.
