design thinking challenge-based learning tinkeringproblem-solving creativitychildren

As a teacher at Tallinn European School, I organized and facilitated a design-based extracurricular activity for a small group of children aged 5 to 7, introducing them to design challenges and fostering their creativity, empathy, and problem-solving skills.

I guided children in using design thinking tools and processes, manipulating common materials in creative ways to generate ideas and make prototypes on topics relevant to them: their school, their neighborhood, their daily life, their family, and their dreams for the future. Through these bite-sized, hands-on projects, they developed skills in perspective-taking, observation, ideation, prototyping, and reflection.
